The Life Of Amber Torrealba

Amber was born and raised in Palm Bay, Florida and now resides on the west coast in Southern California as a professional skimboarder and filmmaker. She started skimboarding at 16 years old while in high school and pursuing a basketball and track career. Her first love was skateboarding, so after high school she decided to focus on building her own skateboard brand, sponsoring riders and creating decks and merch. She chose to focus on her college degree rather than risking further injuries in pursuit of playing college basketball. 

The time away from the court allowed Amber to practice skimboarding alongside managing a Radioshack, and getting her Bachelors Degree from UCF. Post graduation, and a few years after moving to the beach to focus on her skimboarding career, Torrealba won enough competitions on the tour to earn her spot competing professionally in 2014. 

Amber began taking her skills in digital media and marketing to help her personal brand as well as others grow with the rise of growing social media such as Instagram, Vine, and Facebook. She was behind the scenes of product production, branding, marketing, and promotion of many brands in the action sports industry after starting her own marketing agency in Florida. Torrealba has been trusted by brands such as Red Bull, Adobe, Panasonic, Michelob Ultra, SeaDoo, Body Glove, Blenders Eyewear, Freestyle Watches, and many more. By 2015 she was rated 6th in the world on the United Skim Tour and featured as Best Lady in Pulse Skimboarding Magazine. 

Amber then made the hard decision to move from everything in Florida, including her corporate job of managing a million dollar RadioShack, to drive across the country and dive 100 percent into a Skimboarding and Filmmaking career in California. Within the first year of moving she was able to place in many contests including 2nd in Skim USA OBX Skim Jam, 1st place in the Santa Cruz SkimBlast, and proceeded to clinch the Vic World Championship of Skimboarding in 2016, 2018, and 2019.

Amber is now a Producer, Editor, Writer, and Director in her productions and many other projects for key brands alike. She is also an ambassador for Adobe, and appeared on the first commercial of their latest mobile editing app, Adobe Premiere Rush. Her sponsors include but are not limited to, Blenders Eyewear, Etnies, Freestyle Watches, Built Bar, SteadyMD, Body Glove, Victoria Skimboards, Skydio, and Shark Wheel.
